The Girl

The raindrops on the sidewalk are the tears,

of the girl who tries to please everyone.

The tears and yawps from within are the fears,

of the girl who can barely face the sun.

She only tries to face the world around,

with the smile she paints on each day.

She can only dream of where she's bound,

where she goes at night noone can say.

The past is something nobody can change,

not even in her thoughts can she hide.

Tomorrow will come but it feels so strange,

to never come up on the other side.

The girl will never be alone today,

she will never be alone in any way.
