The Girl
The girl that I would never had known if the world wasn't round
Like a negative parabola I would never want to see her frown
A Goddess I call her
I meet you in my dreams
Most Days I wake up dreading the thought of being back in reality.
Most likely you won’t find it fascinating to see an atom through a T.E.M microscope or even care to know that the human hair is between 50-100 nanometers wide
I could go on and on about the things you might not like about me
Like how some days I’m so high that I’m afraid to come back down but most days I’m so low that I’m living beneath the ground
So I beg you to walk a little litter when you step
All that really matters is that you like my poems, the cute ones that makes you smile and even the sad ones
That makes your face look like a broken levee
Love is contradicting
I’ve seen more ups and downs than seesaw and a heart is something I would appreciate not having
I know you can’t trust feelings
And I heard you can’t lust love
But baby
Maybe if I let you love me long enough you could prove me wrong
I don’t like being proven wrong
I hope you’ll never be ashamed to fill your pocket book with duct and scotch tape to tape back together
All of my shattered dreams
I have a lot of shattered dreams
You might not be a poet
But you live your life very poet
As free as a bird
You have never seen her play the saxophone
She has a windpipe the size of heaven and hands that move like a dancing giraffe
You are beautiful and I believe you deserve to know it
I get lost in your smile; find galaxies in the corners of your eyes and at the center are your pupils. I mean the sun, I know I shouldn’t stair to long but I’ll go blind dazing in her eyes
A wise man once told me “the good once always go if you wait too long.”
So I’ll propose to you on our first date
I’ll say be my Mona Lisa!
You see I might change the world one day but it won’t mean anything if I’m not with you
Leonardo Da Vinci didn’t know he was painting a master piece when he painted her so take a leap of faith with me
Let’s paint this city red and blue our favorite colors
Maybe I got lucky and stumbled over a four leaf clover when I fell for you
I once heard a quote that said “all luck is earned eventually.”
I’m not trying to tie you down but every one need somebody and together we could be somebody
You’ll play the piano as I recite my every poem
I’ll sit front row at your band every performance
Together we’ll show the world that young teens haven’t lost it, it’s just been hidden behind drug and bad choices
That was never blessed with a sign of good hope
You’re a walking contradiction; you give me life and take it away
You makes my heart beat faster as you take my breathe away
I hope behind your chest is a heart big enough for the two of us
Because on this road to greatness I may have misplace mine
I remember the first time we meet and we held hands like lovers on death beds
We loved like they was no tomorrow
We loved like it was judgment day
But I just wish I knew the first time I saw you would be the last time I saw you
