like a girl
I am strong and I am not scared.
I use to be but you have forced the role of your fool on me to many times
for it to catch me off guard I’ve learned the slight of hand you use against me
I know the magicians secret I know you’re scared.
I will wait for the right time I am cunning and clever like the wise fox I don’t
need to stalk my prey for you will always stay close to me playing the ignorant dog
to prideful and stubborn.
But I know you’re scared.
I will not walk around with bruises covered by baggy cloths and heavy makeup
I will not cling to my shame like a student to a teacher
I will not let you break my spirt like it’s a twig in your foolish and rugged hands
I will not bind to your will and be silenced
I will not hide my tears and hold my tongue.
There will be no secrets behind closed doors.
I will leave you naked and exposed as you left me in the parking lot
alone and defenseless at the darkest solemn hours of the night.
