Girl in the Back of the room

Being here but not feeling like she’s really here. Drowning in boredom like the sinking Titanic.  Drawing in and out, in and out of reality waiting for that moment that someone other then her lizard notices her. Dying to be noticed and rescued by that knight and shining armor everyone talks about but no one sees. Still drowning. On the outside just trying to smile to forget that I have not life but on the inside screaming to let out of this cage of a room my parents have put her in. Screaming to be out because it's now or never, do or die. Classified as native or loud or maybe even out of control. But maybe just maybe if you looked a little bit closer you’ll see she desperate to find her own ability, curtained by the image she has to uphold for others. Wanting to just be Beautiful Beyond Measures! That girl that stands up to others, that girl who doesn't compromise what or who she is for anyone else, that girl that is her own hero. To be the real Rapunzel!

Thank You!

I am Chelise. I write what I feel needs to be said in that moment. Writing isn't just a hobby for me. Writing is the way I survive and keep moving when my world seems to stop. I love writing. Writing is me.
