The Girl in the Field

She sat with flowers in her tangled hair

Picking petals and leaves from the ground

She is so pretty all I do is stare

It is cold outside and she smells the air

The clouds circle her small eyes round and round

She sat with flowers in her tangled hair

Her skin was shiny porcelain and fair

Her eyes and hair were all browned

She is so pretty all I do is stare

She closes her palms and says a prayer

Looking into the field and the background

She sat with flowers in her tangled hair

She saw across the way was a hurt hare

It was so hard for me not to come around

She is so pretty all I do is stare

I saw her smile at the sky which was rare

I was realized just then she had me spellbound

She sat with flowers in her tangled hair

She is so pretty all I do is stare
