To that girl love hides
To that girl
Love was something that always hid
Others always searched for it
She’d follow after them looking into every crevice, every corner
In every room she’d gaze quietly along with them
She’d stand as far back as she could and watched at how they encountered others
A spark flying at the meeting of eyes
Yet the spark wasn’t all too illuminating
Not even all that bright
A heartbeat wasn’t skipped
Butterflies weren’t fluttering inside
Birds weren’t singing
So why did they not notice
That something was not right
And then where you’d least expect
Love shines ever so bright
That girl saw it, her heart pounding
“Look, look! There it is! What you’ve been looking for…quick!” she’d yell at them
Yet they could not hear her
And love moved on and away
waiting to be discovered another day
