A girl named Brave
I once knew a woman named Fear.
She shackled my wrists and silenced my lips,
holding me hostage from who I was,
who I could Be.
I once knew a man named Doubt.
He ladled lies into my dinner bowl,
spoon-feeding me insecurities to drag
Me down from my potential.
Then I met a child named Courage.
Like a breath of fresh air, They taught me
to hold My head up high and push past Fear,
to rise above Doubt.
They rinsed out my bowl of lies and freed me
from my shackles.
They named Me Brave.
