A girl pulls a handcart

The road with vehicles covers
In morning at school time
All kids with shiny faces,
And dressed in neat uniforms
With pencils, bright and colouful
Away from dirt of road
Travel to schools, smiling.
In that rush a girl of fourteen, or so
Watches both sides of that road
As she waits for a chance to cross
With a handcart full of garbage
Caught by little hands, to throw
At heap across the road
She passes fast as wind throws
Her clothes away from her face
As dirt of road disturbs her
Yet on road she covers clothes again
And throws garbage at heap
