Girl Scouts

The entire point of being a Girl Scout is to help others,

And to treat other girls like sisters and the boys like brothers.

Through my experience through Girl Scout it was just okay.

We did nature walks and picked up litter and it kept me to do something that’s why I stayed.

Here’s why Girl Scout wasn’t that great,

And these reasons I’m not trying to hate.

Back then I was very quiet and shy,

I was sensitive and there times I tried not to cry.

We didn’t do anything big,

The trips we took was just quick.

I didn’t feel like a Girl Scout at all,

A helper? Not even that far.

I remember a moment we had earn money from selling cookies,

We were planning a trip to go somewhere and I said to another girl, “I’m bored” in which the leader heard me,

Replying that it was rude and asked the other girls how to punish me.

I told my mother in the car,

“I said I was bored and the leader wasn’t happy” as I tried not to cry at all.

“I’m not going to like everything we do” which is very true.

We could’ve used the money for something else,

Instead of spending the money for us.

I know we worked hard, accept there are others who need it,

So instead of of keeping it and being greedy of it, we could’ve spent it on others who needs it.

Looking back at it then.

I should’ve said something,

I decided not to because I didn’t want to push the leader’s button.

I didn’t want to ruin everybody else’s fun either,

So I left it and left her.

I don’t regret not saying anything,

Because it just how it went and it isn’t everything.

I remember the time we were at this place,

Meeting other Girl Scouts and exchanging things at a nice pace.

My friend seemed lost and confuse,

So I began helping her, staying true.

And the event was ending,

The leader came up to me and she was mad at me and I should’ve began defending.

I told her I was helping another girl,

And she replied back “No.” and began pushing me like I was hers.

Thinking about it now,

I should’ve said something then,

I was shy and I probabaly didn’t know how,

Although I would’ve said “I am a Girl Scout, the entire point is to help others that need help. To say no, isn’t being a true Girl Scout leader.” But instead I didn’t say anything and that was the end.

I also don’t regret saying anything,

Because it’s in the past and it’s just one thing.

I was upset and embarrassed,

Although, now I’m filled with anger about how it went down and how it is.

Girl Scouts are supposed to be helping others and helping the environment,

And our group did a few things although wasn’t it.
