The Girl on the Sidewalk

Many things in life happen, all for a reason. We may not know why, until the end of the season. He was my best friend, my lover and my life. But he’s no longer that boy, I used to call at night. He’s no longer here, when I need him the most. He walks away and ignores me, as if I’m a stranger on the earth. He doesn’t remember our first “Hello.” Or the things we’ve gone through together, I’m the girl on the sidewalk, in which he doesn’t know. “Number of times I’ve wanted to bawl my eyes out: 320.” He doesn’t realize, my pain and suffering. I’m just another girl, who passes him by, I’m no longer his best friend, I never was, And now all I get is.. “Good-bye.”
