a girl walks home alone at night

she tried to walk near lampposts

believing that the light will protect her from being a prey

her glasses reflecting the light

creating shadows and within her mind

every shadow becomes a creature

and every creature becomes a man

and every man has the same voice taste and sound

every shadow is her fear crippling behind her

she becomes afraid of every footstep she hears

every footstep is him running towards her

every sound is him behind her

every moment she fears she will run into him

she runs home and when she gets there

she realizes she will never be safe

the man runs within her mind

the man haunts her dreams

the man lives in her thoughts

the man is her trauma
