The girl that wasn't

The girl that wasn't due to circumstances but wished she were, due to her innate desire, Finally is, thanks to her need to wipe the slate clean and start afresh. But the forces, ever watchful wishes she isn't so that she can be pulled down to where she was before But she, ever persistence fights them back with strength and Vigor With wishes and wills With prayers and fasts With grit and perseverance But alas they might be changing her to who she was, but wishes she isn't. Her strength fails her yet and yet again Her will desert her and takes wings Her groomed façade comes crumbling down The stone colds and domineos have resurrected The matrix are winning BOOM! BOOM!BOOM! The voice of God in the dark The sound of rain in the drought The sound of gushing water in the wilderness The sound of hope in despair The sound of relief in isolation As if on cue, she receives a surge of divine strength She gets rejuvenated The will to "be" becomes fiercer The will to "live" becomes stronger Adrenaline surges through her body The crumbling façade gives way to beauty, poise and elegance. She finally takes a bold step, another, then another Till she was walking, running, then finally flying. And fly she did without wings Lo and behold, she who wasn't, finally is against all odds.
