The Girl Who Became Self powered

The crush of a heart being broken

like the sound of a cracker

Asked him to prom

I don’t know was his answer

Had high hopes he’ll say yes

but the higher I went up, the harder I’ll hit the ground

I was eager

anxious

happy

but yet unfulfilled

I saw him walking the halls

I don’t know was not an answer for me

I asked him again

he said no

When I walked away

I didn’t feel sad

I felt confident

I took a risk

fell down, but my feet strong enough to stand their ground

Rejection makes you stronger

you can handle the hate

you can live a longer life with your head held up high

For once in my life,

I felt who I was

I was,

no,

I am a strong independent woman

with a heart full of courage and love to live a good life
