The Girl Who Waited

I have waited my whole life For better days to come For buses, bells, and bathrooms For the changing of lights For the passing of storms I wait for the sun to come up And the sun to go down For my favorite shows After the commercials I wait for friends to reply to a Message, text or call For my hair to grow And finally start looking nice I wait in countless lines At the movies, at the mall At theme parks I love And doctors office I don’t I wait for dinner to be ready And our orders to come For the seasons to change And my brother to get home I’m always waiting for the end End of class, End of the day End of winter, End of the year End of the world I wait for love Because I believe that you have to And happiness Though sometime I don’t know it will come I wait for the day That I stop feeling so unstable And for the world to stop Its constant spinning I wait for inspiration But it comes only seldom And I wait for beauty Though I never have to long I wait to become the person That I want to be That I’m supposed to be That I know I am I wait for the day that I stop waiting.
