To The Girl Whose Life Began Again

Dear now high school graduate,

"Your life is about to begin again," you hear. Still unsure of what it means, you ask yourself "how?"

Whether you go 5 miles to 500 hundred miles, you will hear a new pair of girls gossip,

and you will see a new football team play against your new rivals.

You, the high school graduate, will begin to change in ways you did not expect.

As your family sends love and support, you, the high school graduate,

will experience things you heard about, but thought were only stories.

The seminars about "always having a buddy" and "never drink the punch at frat parties"

begin to stick as you grow more self-aware that some people have not changed for the better.

You, the now college freshman, as you sit in your dorm and think how people always

said "your life is about to begin again" now realize it was never just a story.

For you, the now college freshman, heed the same advice towards other just like you.
