The Girl Within

Let me look in the mirror and tell you what I see

I see a girl that is destined to be the best she can be.

No matter what they do, they can't break her stride

Because her determination is a thing that starts inside.

As a young adult she always knew

That it was going to take God to pull her through.

1998 was her first year on earth, and she's been relentless ever since her birth

Knowing that it's not what is, but  what can be that measures worth.

She knows that hard work pays off at the end of the day

That's why she doesn't have time to sit around and play.

For she has learned how far is far and how high is high

But she'll never know until she trys.

Fearless, she will face each foe

For she truly knows she is capable.

She doesn't care what is probable,

Through blood, sweat, and tears, she is UNSTOPPABLE.

The young lady that I see is me

And she is full of ambitious dreams and possibilities

I am deteremined to succeed

And I will do that by any means.

I will not take my eyes off the prize

I'm willing to hold on tight for the ride.

I'll throw my hands up, clench my fists with pride

And hold my head high for there's no need to hide.
