Girls Like Me

A girl like me Never likes to look dumb in front of others My body tightens And I shrink My clothes pile up around me The scent of citrus Tickles the inside of my regal nose My brow furrows As if something was sliding down The irregularities of my vertebral column The smoke I breathe in through the tiny cancer stick Fills my pulsating pink lungs Until there is release That I can't achieve through racing thoughts and rusty knives And I can't tell if I do the things I do Because I can Or because they're ever so slowly and silently Ending my existence Girls like me Notice everything But never really say That they understand Because who would listen
