I lay here tattered 

I am okay but is it enough?

I wish I knew happiness 

In the moments I see everyday

A girl with her lover

A grandfather with his grandchildren 

A family who is happy

Although nobody is perfect 

I just want to be, even for a moment

Give me the all consuming love 

That wraps your soul into one

Nothing is on my mind 

But as I lay here, in the dark
