The Giver
Growing up, I was a giver. I aimed to please, and I put others first.
Now in college, my life is a thriller. I aim to succeed, and I put myself first.
Whoever said it was wrong to be selfish, never did anything for self reward.
I never thought I would begin to relish, on sitting in a class that I could not afford.
I spent my whole life doing for others. I spent my days working for the man.
Now I am among my fellow broke brothers, as we create our selfish life plans.
Being selfish is not a word of ill. "What a shame it is to think of myself!"
But if I do not, then who in life will? "What is the name that I make for myself?"
I encourage you to be more selfish. Take the time to achieve your rewards.
Remember the moments in which you can relish, and sit in those classes that you cannot afford.
For you write the story, that no one else can.
So feast in your glory, and make your life plans!
