Giving

Look upon the ones who give the most
They often don’t do it simply to boast.
Giving and giving all that they’ve got
Be it humor, help or guidance whatnot.
They give and give until they are empty
Empty, of course, from their own generosity.

The person who always has something funny to say
Is just asking for someone to cheer up their day.
The person who teaches and guides their peers
Is looking for someone to quench their fears.
The one who is always the quiet listener
Simply needs someone to be in their corner.

They give and give until they are spent
And they wonder where all of their happiness went.
