Giving Myself Away

I am a fool with

My most important possessions.

If you give me a smile I will give you

My heart.

Blowing money like bubbles

In summer air.

I live inside one but

I feel free.

I've been pretty, and cute, and

Lovely, and sweet, but I've never been

Beautiful...

Outside I'm loud but on the inside

I crack with uneasy silence.

Thinking makes me lose myself, but

My heart puts everything into

A blind focus.

I am the girl with invisible tattoos.

Names written on my lips

Like a reason to smile.

It took me seventeen years to

Find that love is not something you find

In the pages of fairytales,

But in the arms of

Flawed creatures.
