Glass

Fragile

Transparent

Sharp

You reach out

Only to pull back a moment later

Mesmerized

By your own reflection

You look, only to see honest eyes glaring back at you

Handled with care

Afraid it might shatter

So weak

Yet so strong

Cold on the surface

So honest it becomes painful

Everything hidden, revealed

There is no mistake

Try as you might, you can’t escape the truth

Some would gaze in wonder

Others with clear disdain

Seemingly perfect

But the mask is easily cracked

So imperfect, it’s almost beautiful

Very few can see the cracks, the scars that were embedded

Protected

Yet painfully vulnerable

Unable to resist becoming entranced

By such a deceivingly clear view

Nothing can it be compared to

Only ones heartfelt emotions has that privilege

Almost as if it were glass
