“See that bottle? Look! Over there!”
“Uh-huh, the green one? Mountain Dew?
I thought you didn’t like soda…”
“Silly you! Pick it up!”
And stunned and confused he picked it up off the ground.
Into the trashcan it sailed and – wait! The trash can?
“No!”
“Huh?”
“No!”
“What?”
“No! It doesn’t go there!”
Trash goes with trash, but plastics go with plastics.
Doesn’t anyone know this stuff?
Glass goes with glass. Aluminum with the cans.
Paper with other paper. Cardboard with the like.
“Put stuff in the right place, please.”
“My bad.”
“Thanks.”
See, because glass and cardboard don’t mix.
Recycling doesn’t work that way.
You can’t put these things together – that makes them common trash.
They’re not common trash.
They go into making the better things of tomorrow!
Thus I say – recycle please. Help the world one small bottle, can, or piece of paper at a time!
Help the landfills be cleaner.
Don’t let them pollute the water.
Thanks!
