Glass Half Empty
A moment when I realized
I wasn't a kid?
Something I know
that I didn't know then?
You can TRUST you.
When I started to see
Reality
When I started wanting to bleed
When the thing that seems forever startED to crumble.
The only constant thing is me.
I have to learn to be
Independent.
I have to get creative.
Moments when violence starts to creep
Anger starts to grow
Have to maintain some self-control
Cinderella got nothing me
A fairy godmother can't fix me
Who I was then Is not me now.
Navie and hope shatter under pressure
a barbie movie turns into Stephen King.
When family ties start to wither
Only I am constant.
Many things comfort me
Hide the sting of reality.
Scholarship and paper want me to reflect
About a time that was most precious
A time of youth and naivety
And how we released how shitty life turns out to be
Hopes and dreams come with a price
Strong families weaken with cancerous figures
Shame and regret shape me
My beautiful siblings hate
My mother salt in the wound
And a father who is away more than a month
When sadness and rage start to creep
They're Buried deeper than most would think
Never enough in a world of problems
Even the environment is sick of our smog.
How is it that I thought so much good when reality
It a reflection of the fucked up masses.
Elders pin hopes on the youth
The youth could be great
But the youth is flawed
The moment I lost my innocence youth is when I started to see something called reality
What I know now that I didn't know then is
The only constant in life if me.
