A glimpse of free

Take a seat by me,

pleases see what I see.

the leaves are growing wildly toward the sky,

growing tall, bent, and unformed like a wave in the sea.

their leaves are of the brightest green,

the most earthly of beauties under holy decree

Look through the bonds that I do,

not strong but constricting through and through.

they cross and cross holding me here,

i wish they were gone but they're clouding my view.

i know I can't break them but maybe work around,

someday I'll see leaves laden with dew.

so sit with me,

and you'll be free too.
