A Glimpse in the Mirror

Dear Yester-you,

I know that I have disappointed you.

I built up a gilded life only to shatter dreams.

Your dreams were doomed to fail.

You wanted to walk with giants.

You wanted it all, that is the flaw.

I am disgusted by you.

I had dreams too,

I failed because of you.

I reached for the stars,

But they were too bright and you ran away.

You won in the end.

You made who I am.

I was too scared to fight.

After all I was doomed to lose,

My opponent knew every move.

Regretfully,

You.
