A Glimpse at the World

Into the unknown

A dark chasm awaits.

Hidden from my sight

Yet, it’s always there.

Obscuring my future

With shadows of doubt.

Metamorphosis –

Asleep as a silent lamb

Awoke as a fox.

Only one glance, glimpse.

Yet the world began flooding

O’vr my facile life.

Lamblike joy and end-

Less delight sundered by it:

The adult world.

New choices, new paths

Compose a silky web. No

Longer transparent.

Yet, can the world be

Rewound? Sunset before sunrise?

Reverting backwards

To the lamblike days.

Now when I see the chasm

I will look away.
