Glimpsed Such

To glimpse such,
as she has, I know I don't
That's way too much.
I simply won't

The warmth of skin leaves mine as she runs along ahead,
come on, she beckoned with her hand, she will never understand
A change burned through this once shy girl, her uniqueness fed
Now I come or follow every day, it's all she used to want.
She felt a sting, a perceived betrayal, I refused to follow her.
In sorrow she broke her universe and shattered part of mine,
I can trace her steps she took that day, tears flow, I drop and whine

Why'd you go where I can't follow, shouldn't that for pain suffice?
In doing so, in glimpsing, gently swinging from above, infinity?
I could cope if you had moved, but all your self, bright and brilliant,
Is forever tied to the day you glimpsed such. In the rafters.
Recollection is all recalling, the newest tragic act breaks it all/me
All our jokes, your laughter, our dance is far too much for me to see
I should have been more interesting, and perhaps she would have followed.

A glimpse is sometimes all you get and what it takes
I glimpsed something beautiful
And it promptly flew away
perhaps to teach us fragile things what can vanish in a day.
