In the Gloom

My love
You are an animal
And I am a flower
I beg that you love me
At least for an hour

You have claws and fangs
And I have petals that flow
But when the rain comes pouring
I drink my fill
And you find a cave to lie snoring

I am fragile
But I feed in the gloom
And I drink in only the rain
You hunt in the light
And bring only pain

My sweet love
You are an animal
And I am a flower
I beg that you love me
And in the gloom not cower
