Glow-up.

Glow-up

You went from being a closed-off caterpillar to a social butterfly.  You glowed up.

You used to never take anyone’s advice, but now you’ve opened your heart to criticism, whether harsh or soft. You glowed up.

You juggled two identities to choose from to being yourself. your black self. You glowed up.

You went from giving too much and not receiving enough to matching other’s energy. You really glowed up

You’ve had your fair share of bad haircuts, but now you’ve decided to explore your curl patterns and dive deep into your ever-growing hair, as you wear it like a crown. You glowed up.

You went from wearing old navy and bugle boy to wearing cuffed pants and tucked in-shirts. On that ASAP Rocky tip. You glowed up.

You went from being afraid of letting the world hear your gift to releasing some of the best work you’ve written yet. You glowed up.

You went from giving too much and not receiving enough to matching other’s energy. You really glowed up.

But some things never change during this process.

You are never mindful of what other people may think about you

You are oblivious to the hate of the world, and instead you bring your world to others

You are humble, knowing when to sit down and when to stand up

You are individualistic

Most importantly, you are a child of God

Because you can change your perception and still not forget the person you are from the start, that’s where you’ve grown up. Yet the marathon continues, so don’t stop now.
