Glow Up, Grow Up

The moment I realized my glow up at a young upcoming age,

Times where I would visit doctors offices and have to sign in on my own and tell what's wrong instead of my mother,

From training bras that were $6, to all of a sudden turning into $40 on shopping days,

There were times when I could stay out with friends, and not have to come back until very late,

My glow up from child to young adult was learning how to drive and run errands for my mother and I,

From keeping to myself and having a few close friends, to talking to cute boys who made my heart flutter,

To dumping all of those boys, and learning about taxes and life responsibilities,

My glow up consisting of jobs, taking care of myself, and working hard for everything I have,

From thinking that there were no worries in the world, to turning on the television and seeing American and global tragedies,

To, at for some time in life, thinking of only self, to wanting to help others first and myself second,

A glow up never stops glowing, I continue to get become brighter with age.
