Glow-up, Grow up
Growing up thinking I knew it all
thinking I was wise knowing what to do.
I thought I knew what I believed
I thought I knew I would be unwavering.
But when faced with my real flesh
when faced with my desire to leave the rest,
I saw it wasn't that easy.
I saw it wasn't as breezy.
believing what I should and doing what is right
was harder and more difficult than I expected.
I had to choose what I wanted.
I had to choose what I needed.
I could choose this world and all it offers,
or I could choose my Lord and all He has planned.
I knew what I wanted
I knew what I needed.
So I chose what I needed.
I choose what those around me needed.
Leaving my flesh behind me
and striving for God's blessings ahead of me.
