Glow-up, Grow-up

From running around in playgrounds at kindergarten

To learning how to ride a bike

Life is a rapidly moving roller coaster

with uncertainty at any moment ready to strike

I treasure the old days

When as a child I was free

To run and roam as I pleased

Yet life gets hard and hit me like a roaring sea

Middle school came around

And change overwhelmed me

I moved homes, schools, and churches

I craved my old life and did not want to leave

Growing pains had never hurt this bad

My life was flipped and turned around

I felt like I had lost my identity

Yet realized that this mindset had me bound

I learned to embrace change

No matter how hard

Since in the end my eyes were opened

I saw the world from a new perspective and realized

That change had molded the mature me
