GLOW-ing Pains

Bottoms up Bitches!

It’s lit!

He is so cute!

I bought my first apartment!

Everyone wants to glow-up. It is all we ever dream of. All we aspire to do.

Now we can drink, live alone, and fall in love if we are lucky while

The love, the light, and naivety of childhood follows us through.

However,

Black and white fades to grey.

Pain turns into lessons.

Lemons are turned to lemonade, just so it can be sold for profit.

The only certain thing becomes change.

Poems don't always rhyme.

I didn’t grow up too fast, but I was signaled from an early age.

When the wind got knocked out of me as I fell from the Monkey Bars-

I didn’t know such pain existed.

If I knew “damn!” was a word, I probably would have sincerely said it.

Instead I walked away shocked.

Standing up confused and slightly more cautious.

But yet, I kept going, soon smiling again and making moves.

A true glow up.
