Glowing into a Woman
As I sit in contemplation,
I ponder on where the time has gone.
My heart begins to open in meditation.
The memory of that beautiful clueless little girl fills my mind.
Chasing butterflies and big dreams with all of her might.
Dreams sunny and bright, for nothing was too big to give her a fright.
Sweet innocence dancing in the rain.
The reflection so vivid in my awareness.
Playtime was her life.
No concept of hard work, responsibility or pain.
None at all.
Until the day came along that was no longer was all about play.
It happened with seemingly no warning.
But the signs were all there on display.
The harsh reality of life taught her about herself though.
An image of a girl evolving into a woman with character and soul,
Still light and bright as her youth reflected.
Only now with purpose, understanding and growth,
Even brighter in that moment as the truth exposed, she glowed.
Guided on my seated journey into consciousness.
A wave of joy and sense of knowing erupted from within,
I was a part of a bigger truth.
A purpose much deeper than just playing pretend.
Discipline, integrity and hard work shaped her growth,
From the innocent little girl into a woman who glowed.
