Glued Fingers

 

Here we go again,

Your words spoke lovers but your actions failed to hold my hand.

I expected to fall full force into your arms

but instead, you were using your promises as a way to keep your hands tied. 

But you must've forgotten about my heart like you usually do, 

I kept a 

tight grip on your soul and you tried to ply away my fingers until you figured my fingers were stuck like glue. 

Sure you could rip off the promises like a band-aid, let my glued fingers be torn from your soul, but then you'd feel the emptiness where my presence had existed, right in those holes...can't be filled and you'll continue to be searching for glued fingers when you already had them. 

And it's the frustration that feeds into my system,  

you fed me lies that grew into deceiving fat, filling my stomach to the brim with words that I would never be certain were facts. 

I like you when you're stripped down to your minimal... 

when you're carefree 

and not so cynical

I always tell myself that you know where home is, 

but you know that a dog will go to where ever a bone is.  

And still I am infatuated by you, our conversations are like dopamine,

the words we exchange seem to flow like sand in a river stream. 

Our passion grew mountains and I climbed to the top, 

at one point I couldn't breathe but I never did stop. 

You tell me I make things so hard because my love always shines through, and how even when you're with her you still think about what I do. 

That's what happens when fingers are glued to your soul, 

you'll try to ply them away but you then realize that my fingers will never fold.
