Go and Do

I am so tired…

This world seems to move to fast.

All I want to do is sleep.

This world wants me to go and do.

You’re tired?

Go grab a cup o’ Joe.

Go take an energy shot.

Go and do.

You want to stop?

But you have so much to do.

But you have to keep up.

But you have to go and do.

You want a break?

Better make it quick.

Better get something done.

Better go and do.

You want to slow down?

You might fall behind.

You might never make it.

You might as well go and do.

This fast paced world is neck breaking.

This relentless speed is self draining.

This nonstop movement is spirit crushing.

This continuous drive is relationship killing.

Will stopping really put us that far behind?

Will taking the time to breathe be that detrimental?

Will resting make you that less of a person?

Will going and doing all the time improve that much?

Pulling the all nighter that leaves you drained…

Consuming the caffeinated drink that leaves you unsatisfied…

Updating the social media that leaves you lonely…

Working the job that leaves you empty…

Following the crowd that leaves you isolated…

Doing the deed that leaves you wondering…

Going the whole day that leaves you searching…

Wondering the whole night what if…

What if the new trend was to stop and breathe?

What if the new trend was to rest for a day?

What if the new trend was to follow an old one?

What if the new trend was to take a Sabbath?

Imagine a day where no one worked until they burned out.

Imagine a day where no one competed until they were on top.

Imagine a day without a single shop open.

Imagine a day without any to-do lists.

Imagine a day with no deadlines.

Imagine a day with no worries.

Imagine a day with no time commitments.

Imagine a day with no excuses.

Imagine a day where everyone stopped.

Imagine a day where everyone rested.

Imagine a day where everyone just chilled.

Imagine a day where everyone enjoyed the silence.

This change of life style would be insane.

This change would shock the world.

This change would save a life.

This change would recharge the nation.

Any other change wouldn’t be as challenging.

Any other change wouldn’t be met with such disregard.

Any other change wouldn’t be so impactful.

Any other change wouldn’t be live giving.

I’m sick of being tired.

I’m sick of hearing the complaints.

I’m sick of hearing the competition.

I’m sick of trying to live up to it.

I want to rest for a day.

I want to recharge for a day.

I want to live longer.

I want to be stronger.

So I will.

I can be the change to start the change.

I can be scoffed at by unbelievers.

In the end, I hope I won’t be standing alone.
