To Go Away or Not to Go Away

To go away for college or not to go away for college, that is the question;

Whether tis nobler to stay or to live away

The closeness and affection from my family,

Or to meet new friends and venture into new traditions.

I venture off and become homesick or,

stay behind and become sick of home,

Lose my drive to learn as I stay behind

Or proceed to learn and expand my mind.

To base it off financial wealth and regret not going

Or take the risk and realize it wasn’t worth it.

From seeing the same faces everyday

To not recognizing a single building

I need to take my time to think

Whether or not to change my life drastically

Or do the same boring thing.

To compromise a relationship with my parents

to better the relationship with myself or

to hold back on my dreams

and fulfill yet another of their wishes.

I must do right by myself

And choose the path I have yet not taken.
