The Goal

Silence.

The spurt of water transforms into a shower,

The top hat sound of the sprinkler shatters the glasslike ambiance, introducing the day.

Drops on a blade of grass awaken the Earth.

The rock and plastic arise and stretch into the sky shaking off their slumber,

It is time for work.

Themillionsentertogether.  Divided.

The gentle buzz slowly changes to a cacophonous roar as heroes

Enter.

Chants of history, of present, and of future rain on ears; hackneyed and familiar.

Disliked by many, adored by more.

It is the past, it is the present, it is my future.

Soccer.
