God Gave Me A Pen
My bed is far from on the streets.
I've been spoiled and I'm sometimes vane.
Yet, with my luck comes a price:
I fear that I am going insane.
In my room sits a guitar for only my ears.
I sing so loudly that nobody hears.
My payment's becoming too heavy--to much.
Breakdown is imminent. I only have one crutch.
Take a memo-- no! I will list them,
All of the things I must pay
Before I snap, before I crack,
Before they take me away:
A fear of abandonment
A fear of pain
A fear of judgement
A fear of trains
No father to console me
For the death of a friend.
No, God won't save me
But he gave me a pen.
I would live on the streets for days
If it would mean my debt would be paid
Because with my luck comes a price...
I know that I am going insane.
