The God Rock

All my hope has gone, And the depression lingers on. Nothing is left for me, In places that I used to be. And promises of providence were sworn, But nothing new was born. They say, “How could it be?” You didn't think it would ever happen to me. In areas where darkness resides, No one stays by my side. You may be gone, But I’m moving on. And as the sadness subsides, I can now see the grace in His eyes. Happiness is mine; I’m stepping over the line. I’m not a better version, Without suffocating sin, Slowly merging With the presence of the King, Now side by side and one with my kin, Leaving the absence that was the past, Nightmares that will not last. Dreams of the future Keep me alive in the present. They say, “Just look at her…” A little hesitant. She has let the sand slip through her fingers And now holds onto the Rock that is God.
