God Is With Us
The world rises,
And we fall.
I guess I might as well lift up my white flag,
And You might as well just leave my side.
I never said that I was perfect yet hypocrisy was my crime,
I just wanted to make a difference but my faith was never strong enough.
We just watch helplessly as our kingdoms fall,
And we just cry for it all,
Because tears are all we have left,
Can there be an escape from death?
So God, why does pain happen to good people?
Because I know that I we're perfect,
But when I see the flames I know we don't deserve it.
I never really hurt a soul,
I just broke a heart trying to make myself whole.
My friend never left anyone behind,
Until his greed rendered him blind.
So why is our world crashing down?
Is God with us through all of this?
Is there a sign that I seemed to have missed?
Because winter seems to rise,
While summer burns within His eyes.
We need You right now,
Where are You?
Can someone tell us that we're not alone?
Can someone just say that God is with us?
Something wrong with this poem?
