The Goddess of Love?

how does it seem

to always bite me 

in the back

whenever i try

to find the slightest bit of love

i tell myself

you're your own goddess of love

but she wasn't going after

broken boys who could break her

she radiated positivity

but was also breathtakingly beautiful

that is where we differ

i go after less than Gods 

who will angrily return that so called

powerful love

so how am i supposed to be

my own goddess of love

when i can't even let myself

have what i deserve

when will i be 

that perfect goddess

of love?
