Godly love

Because I love you, I will love you selflessly. I promise to put you above me, and to think of your needs above mine constantly.

Because I love you, I’ll be sure to be kind, to not pick fights. Because I love you, I’ll practice being

slow to speak, and quick to listen, I promise you’ll have my attention. Because I love you, I’ll always be here. I won’t be scared, I’ll always care.

because I love you, I won’t throw your past mistakes back in your face. I’ll truly forgive, never using things you did for my gain,

because I know it would cause you pain. Because I love you, I’ll do all I can to make you happy and laugh,

because I cannot stand to see you sad. Because I love you, you will know God because

God will use me to pour out His love. Because I love you, I will choose to trust you, and when things go wrong, I’ll have faith that

through God and our

love, we will persevere through. Because I love you, I love you the way God wants me too, because it is the best kind of love, I could ever give to

you.

(Inspired by 1 Chorinthians 13:4-8)
