God's Beauty

When God so loved the world,

He gave His only Son

Was that enough

Was it done

He loved us so much

That He gave us beauty

He gave us happiness, joy, peace

What did we do

We became the beast

We took His gift and we destroyed it

We took the beauty

On fire we lit

The beauty of the world

We hold in the palm of our hand

Will we stand up for it

Or will we kill it

Like the lion kills the lamb

God gave us beauty

We killed it

We try to reclaim it

In song and dance and poetry

These are now the things of beauty

Song, our peace

Dance, our joy

Poetry, our soul
