God's Hands

It’s a wonder

That after all these years

After each fall

My face has never hit the ground

I know not what the dirt tastes like

Or how the pavement feels against my face

Many times I’ve tripped

Many times I’ve grown weary

Yet each time

You catch my wrist

Pulling my heart to safety, holding her carefully

Hands covering her like a candle with a weak flame

With Your breath hope invigorates the fire

Blazing again I run

Stupidly, with no care of obstacles

I will taste my tears

I will feel my own sweat

Tripping, falling, crawling

But with You

A heart is still loving, hoping, moving
