Going to Die Tonight

The sky is gray
Filling with clouds
An ominous feeling hangs over the land
We wait and watch
For the leader to come
Dauntless, ruthless, bravery as some may call it
Our neck straining to see while our bodies curl in to hiding.
We know what will come next.
Someone will die
But who is the question
Who will leave next?
The young boy, the elderly woman?
We all know someone will die.
Dusk comes and apprehension still lies.
No one will die….tonight.
