Going Green
Don't blink, don't even say a word.
Don't hold anything, except your breath...
The streets fill up with angst with a competitive craving,
a craving driven by lonliness, until...
It all changes.
When a raging storm shook everything up, the winds of the earth ran amok.
Noone knew knew where to go, what to think, or how to even blink!
And while neither the green politician nor the green billionaire would stop looking the other way,
We tightly held onto to nothing but a silly, crinkled sheet of green paper, with eyes of grey.
I can't stop searching, can't stop working.
I can't find who I am in a dollar bill, still...
What if we all stuffed all the green of our earth into our little wallets?
Would we be less alone?
Do you really see the face in that dollar bill staring back at you?
Could I find meaning in Nature, not in the paper made from Nature alone?
Maybe then, maybe, I could find my way home.
