GOING HOME
Going Home.....
‘As the deer pants for streams of water
So my soul pants for you, O God
My soul thirsts for God, for the living God,
When I can go and meet with God’
(Psalm 42.1 N.I.V. Version)
When the life of one;
Is purposely,
Or suddenly,
Or totally unexpectedly,
Draws to a close the many chapters,
That represents a person’s life.
Then it becomes a time,
A time to mourn,
A time for sadness,
A time to remember,
And a time for wishing,
There had been more time,
To have spoken,
Many things not said.
And when another soul,
Departs from mother earth,
Could be a young baby,
Whose cry from the cradle
Shall be heard no more.
Child with shaven head,
The disease from within
Can cause pain and suffering no more.,
Young person who life has much to offer,
Taken tragically and suddenly,
When wrapped around
A immovable gum tree.
Old man or elderly woman
Clutching at their breast,
No longer
does their beat be heard.
O Lord!
When it is our time,
For our mortal body to turn to dust;
And our soul passes,
Through that valley of darkness,
Although our eyes are closed in sleep,
I know we go to a far better place,
Into a land of no more,
No more tears and heartaches
No more sadness at one’s loss.
O Lord!
I know we go,
Into a different home of love,
Of peace and tranquility,
Because we are now in the presence,
Of the living God,
Who has been
my God of hope;
My God is of comfort and love,
And through his hand;
It was he who created each,
And now has taken home
To draw us nearer to him,
And to those left behind have comfort,
In the knowledge,
The dearly departed ones,
Are with the living loving God.
‘As the deer pants for streams of water
So my soul pants for you, O God!
My soul thirsts for God,
For the living God
When I can go and meet my God’
