Going Somewhere Else

When I grow up, I want to go places, to travel.

I want to leave,

Leave the place where I once loved.

I want become the person God has called,

One who desires to teach,

And pour into the lives of kids.

Sweet, selfless, little kids,

To them I will soon travel.

And though I am not qualified to teach,

I would give up everything and just leave,

To go overseas where I have been called,

And spend time with the children I will grow to love.

I would give them my love,

I would give up anything for these kids.

My heart feels the call,

Feels the desire to travel.

My heart yearns for the day when I will leave,

When I will go to teach.

And though it will be some time until I will teach,

I will still carry the love

And the desire to leave.

I want to see the faces of the kids

Where I will travel,

And their names I will call.

I will prepare myself for the call,

I will become qualified to teach.

That way, when it is time for me to travel,

I will take with me my love,

And go to the kids,

From there I will never leave.

I will have no desire to leave,

For I will remain in the place I was called,

Surrounded by smiling-faced kids.

My only desire is to teach these little ones,

The ones who stole my heart full of love.

My heart now belongs to them and I no longer wish to travel.

Overseas I will go to teach,

To provide these children with love,

And that is why I will have traveled.
